THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION
The Royal British Legion is one of the UK's largest membership organisations and the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the British Armed Forces, and their dependants. Currently, nearly 10.5 million people are eligible for our support and we receive thousands of calls for help every year.

The Legion was founded in 1921 as a voice for the ex-Service community and was given its Royal prefix in 1971 to mark its fifty years of existence. Over 450,000 members worldwide continue to ensure that this voice does not go unheard. Although the needs of ex-Service people have changed over the years, we are still there to safeguard their welfare, interests and memory. British service people are in action around the world every day of the year. They know that if they need our support - now or in the future - the Legion is always on active duty for them. There are currently over 2000 branches in the U.K. and overseas offering participation in social and welfare activities.

THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION - HOLLAND BRANCH (BR 3623)
Originally, there existed only The Royal British Legion Netherlands Branch. However, this was subsequently divided into three Branches to allow for more effective communication and organisation; Amsterdam, Arnhem/Nijmegen, and Eindhoven (1956). In 2008, the Arnhem/Nijmegen and Eindhoven Branches closed down, prompting TRBL HQ to set in motion the formation of one Holland Branch to serve the entire Netherlands. The new amalgamated Branch was officially inaugurated on April 16th, 2010.

The Holland Branch presently numbers close to 180 members, who are scattered over many of the provinces of the Netherlands, with a few members in Belgium and the U.K.

The membership comprises former British servicemen and women, Dutch men and women who served with the British Forces during WW II, and members of their families, as well as associates and friends.
